gatiś ca paramā kṛṣṇa tvam eva ca parāyaṇam | śrīkṛṣṇa! āpa hamāre mātā-pitā ke tulya haiṃ | āpa hī paramagati aura parama āśraya haiṃ |

The verse expresses śaraṇāgati—ethical and spiritual surrender—where Arjuna recognizes Krishna as the highest goal (paramā gatiḥ) and the ultimate refuge (parāyaṇam). In a crisis of dharma, the right course is sought through wholehearted reliance on a wise, righteous guide.
During the intense fighting of the Karṇa Parva, Arjuna turns to Krishna with reverence and dependence. He affirms that Krishna is not merely a strategist but his supreme support—like a parent—strengthening Arjuna’s resolve to act according to dharma amid the violence of war.
