etasminn antare jiṣṇur jitvā saṁśaptakān bahūn

Even amid chaos, disciplined effort and steadfast resolve can overcome opponents driven by rigid vows; the verse highlights perseverance and martial duty (kṣatriya-dharma) without losing focus in the larger ethical struggle of the war.
Sañjaya reports that Arjuna (called Jiṣṇu) has, in the interim, defeated many of the Saṁśaptakas—warriors specially pledged to engage him—indicating Arjuna’s continued dominance in that ongoing engagement.
