Droṇa’s sweeping assault and the Abhimanyu–Jayadratha close-quarters episode (द्रोणस्य भीषणव्यचरितम् / सौभद्र-जयद्रथ-संनिपातः)
यत्नमाना: प्रयत्नेन द्रोणानीकविशातने । न शेकुः सृञ्जया युद्धे तद्धि द्रोणेन पालितम्
yatnamānāḥ prayatnena droṇānīka-viśātane | na śekuḥ sṛñjayā yuddhe taddhi droṇena pālitam | āptair āśu parijñātaṃ bhāradvāja-cikīrṣitam |
Санджая сказал: Сринджайи, прилагая величайшие усилия, чтобы сокрушить боевой строй Дроны, не смогли добиться успеха в той схватке, ибо то войско было надежно прикрыто Дроной. И вместе с тем через верных людей быстро было выяснено, чего намеревался достичь сын Бхарадваджи (Дрона).
