The Advance toward Bhīṣma and Counter-Engagements
bhṛśaṁ kruddhaś ca tejasvī nārācena samārpayat | citrasenaṁ mahārāja tava putraṁ mahāyaśāḥ ||
The verse highlights the ethical strain of righteous warfare: even a famed hero, driven by intense anger, must act within the harsh framework of kṣatriya-duty, where personal emotion and moral cost coexist with battlefield obligation.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Bhīma, burning with anger, attacks Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son Citrasena by shooting him with a nārāca arrow, marking a sharp escalation in the combat.
