भीष्मधनंजयद्वैरथम्

Bhīṣma–Dhanaṃjaya Duel and the Opening Clash

चिक्रीड धनुषा राजॉल्लक्ष्यं कृत्वा महारथान्‌ । ततो दुर्योधनो राजा भीष्ममाह जनेश्वर:

cikrīḍa dhanuṣā rājāllakṣyaṃ kṛtvā mahārathān | tato duryodhano rājā bhīṣmamāha janeśvaraḥ ||

Санджая сказал: Царь, играючи, действовал луком, избрав мишенями великих колесничих. Затем царь Дурьодхана, владыка людей, обратился к Бхишме — знак того, что в стане куру простая демонстрация доблести уступила место обдуманному совету и военному приказу.
