Renunciation and the Discipline of Action
इन्द्रियाँ, मन और बुद्धि--ये सब इसके वासस्थान कहे जाते हैं। यह काम इन मन, बुद्धि और इन्द्रियोंके द्वारा ही ज्ञाकको आच्छादित करके जीवात्माको मोहित करता हैः ।।
tasmāt tvam indriyāṇy ādau niyamya bharatarṣabha | pāpmānaṁ prajahi hy enaṁ jñānavijñānanāśanam ||
Потому, о лучший из Бхарат, сперва обуздай чувства; затем силой сокруши это греховное желание, губящее и знание, и живое разумение.
अजुन उवाच
Begin with sense-restraint; unchecked desire (kāma) corrupts both understanding (jñāna) and practical discernment (vijñāna). Ethical clarity depends on disciplining the senses before desire gains control.
In the Gītā discourse on the battlefield, the instruction culminates in a practical directive to Arjuna: restrain the senses first and thereby defeat desire, portrayed as an inner adversary that veils wisdom and leads to moral failure.
