जग्मुस्ते परलोकाय व्यादितास्यमिवान्तकम्‌ | वे युद्धसे पीठ न दिखानेवाले

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | jagmus te paralokāya vyāditāsyam ivāntakam |

Translation

Санджая сказал: Те воины ушли в мир иной, словно входя в саму Смерть с разверстою пастью. Не отступая в бою и не показывая спины, исполненные доблести и несущие золотые стяги, они двинулись на Бхишму; и вместе с конями, колесницами и слонами стали путниками на дороге в следующий мир.
