Adhyāya 62: Marutta’s Treasure and the Pāṇḍavas’ Auspicious Departure (मरुत्तस्य धनप्राप्त्युपक्रमः)
विबुधानां गतो लोकानक्षयानात्मनिर्जितान् । न स शोच्यस्त्वया वीरो न चान्यै: कुरुभिस्तथा
vaishampāyana uvāca |
vibudhānāṁ gato lokān akṣayān ātmanirjitān |
na sa śocyas tvayā vīro na cānyaiḥ kurubhis tathā ||
Вайшампаяна сказал: «Тот герой ушёл в нетленные миры богов — в обители, добытые им собственной доблестью. Потому не следует тебе оплакивать его, как и прочим куру».
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A righteous warrior who has earned imperishable heavenly realms through his own valor should not be lamented; grief is tempered by the recognition of dharmic attainment and the soul’s onward journey.
Vaiśampāyana consoles the mourners by stating that Abhimanyu has departed to the gods’ undecaying worlds, gained by his personal heroism, and thus neither the listener nor the other Kurus should remain overwhelmed by sorrow.
