कुन्ती–व्याससंवादः
Kuntī–Vyāsa Dialogue on Durvāsā’s Boon and Karṇa’s Birth
ते चापि राजवचनात् पुरुषा ये गताभवन् | संकल्प्य तेषां कुल्यानि पुन: प्रत्यागमंस्ततः
te cāpi rājavacanāt puruṣā ye gatābhavan | saṅkalpya teṣāṃ kulyāni punaḥ pratyāgamaṃs tataḥ ||
Вайшампаяна сказал: и те люди, что отправились по царскому повелению, собрали костные останки усопших и затем вернулись оттуда. По надлежащему обряду они почтили их разными гирляндами и сандалом и, совершив поклонение, предали их водам Ганги. После этого они возвратились в Хастинапуру и доложили царю обо всём. Отрывок утверждает нравственный долг живых: с благоговением завершать погребальные обязанности даже после великого бедствия, дабы почтить мёртвых и восстановить общественный порядок через дхарму.
