धृतराष्ट्रदर्शनाय पाण्डवानां प्रयाणम् | The Pāṇḍavas Prepare to Visit Dhṛtarāṣṭra
ततो मां तेजसा5<विश्य मोहयित्वा च भानुमान् । उवाच भविता पुत्रस्तवेत्यभ्यगमद् दिवम्,तब मैं उन निरपराध ब्राह्मणको शापसे बचाती हुई बोली--'देव! मुझे आपके समान पुत्र प्राप्त हो।।
tato māṁ tejasāviśya mohayitvā ca bhānumān | uvāca bhavitā putras tavety abhyagamad divam ||
Затем бог Солнца, войдя в меня своим сиянием и повергнув в оцепенение, объявил: «У тебя родится сын». Сказав это, он удалился на небеса.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how extraordinary power can override ordinary human agency, yet the narrative frames the outcome within a moral universe where consequences (a destined birth and its responsibilities) must be borne. It invites reflection on dharma: how one responds ethically to events that are not fully chosen.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that the Sun-god (Bhānumān) enters the woman through his radiance, causing bewilderment, and then proclaims that she will have a son. After giving this assurance, he departs to the heavens.
