कन्या जज्ञे सुतात् तस्य वने निवसत: सतः । नाम्ना सत्यवती नाम रूपेणाप्रतिमा भुवि
kanyā jajñe sutāt tasya vane nivasataḥ sataḥ | nāmnā satyavatī nāma rūpeṇāpratimā bhuvi ||
Бхишма сказал: Когда тот царь жил в лесу, у него родилась дочь. Её назвали Сатьявати, и на земле не было равной ей красотой,—существо необычайное, которому суждено было впоследствии стать ключевым звеном в продолжении царского рода и в исполнении долга.
भीष्म उवाच

Bhishma narrates that while a king was residing in the forest, a daughter was born to him. She was named Satyavatī, and she is described as unmatched in beauty on earth, foreshadowing her later importance in the dynastic story.
