क्षत्रियं तूग्रकर्माणं त्वं भद्रे जनयिष्यसि । नहि ते तत्‌ कृतं साधु मातृस्नेहेन भाविनि

Transliteration

kṣatriyaṃ tūgrakarmāṇaṃ tvaṃ bhadre janayiṣyasi | nahi te tat kṛtaṃ sādhu mātṛsnehena bhāvini ||

Translation

Бхишма сказал: «О благословенная, ты родишь кшатрия, чьи деяния будут свирепы. Из-за привязанности к материнской любви то, что ты совершила, не заслуживает похвалы. По обмену, который ты и твоя мать устроили, твоя мать произведёт на свет превосходного сына, предназначенного для удела брахмана, а ты станешь матерью воина, чьи поступки будут ужасны.»
