इति श्रीमहाभारते आदिपर्वणि सम्भवपर्वणि भीष्मोत्पत्तावष्टननवतितमो< ध्याय: ।। ९८ || इस प्रकार श्रीमहाभारत आदिपव॑के अन्तर्गत सम्भवपर्वमें भीष्मोत्पत्तिविषयक अद्ठानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti śrīmahābhārate ādiparvaṇi sambhavaparvaṇi bhīṣmotpattāv aṣṭanavatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ || 98 ||
Так, в «Шри Махабхарате», в составе Ади-парвы и, в частности, Самбхава-парвы, завершается девяносто восьмая глава — о рождении и происхождении Бхишмы. Эта заключительная приписка отмечает окончание главы и вписывает повествование в широкую нравственно-историческую летопись рода Куру.
