वैशम्पायन उवाच
Inner intention and focused remembrance (manasā cintā) are portrayed as potent; the sage’s immediate appearance highlights the ideal of a spiritually accomplished person who responds to a sincere call, while also placing ethical responsibility on the petitioner for what they will ask and why.
A woman mentally calls to mind the sage Dvaipāyana (Vyāsa). He promptly manifests before her and asks what service or instruction she seeks, setting up the next action or request in the story.
