वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse praises a sacred recitation/rite as doubly beneficial: it grants worldly success (victory over land and enemies) and supports dharmic continuity through progeny, presenting auspicious speech and ritual as sources of protection and welfare for a ruler.
Vaiśampāyana, in the course of his narration, commends a particular auspicious formula/rite, stating that a king who hears it gains sovereignty and triumph, and that it functions as an excellent puṁsavana (son-bestowing) and a great svastyayana (benediction for well-being).
