इत्याख्यानं मया55स्तीकं यथावत् तव कीर्तितम् । यत् कीर्तयित्वा सर्पेभ्यो न भयं विद्यते क्वचित्,इस प्रकार मैंने आपसे आस्तीकके उपाख्यानका यथावत् वर्णन किया है; जिसका पाठ कर लेनेपर कहीं भी सर्पोंसे भय नहीं होता
ity ākhyānaṃ mayā āstīkaṃ yathāvat tava kīrtitam | yat kīrtayitvā sarpebhyo na bhayaṃ vidyate kvacit ||
Так я, в должном порядке, поведал тебе сказание об Астике. Говорят, что тот, кто его читает или произносит, нигде не знает страха перед змеями.
