The verse highlights how outward splendor and charm can overpower perception and judgment—drawing the senses (eyes) and the inner faculty (mind). Ethically, it cautions that fascination with beauty or fortune can distract beings from discernment and self-control.
Nārada describes a woman whose presence is compared to embodied Śrī (Fortune/Lakṣmī). She is portrayed as extraordinarily attractive and capable of assuming any form, and her beauty captivates all beings, seizing their attention and thoughts.
