समन्तपञ्चक-आख्यानम् तथा अक्षौहिणी-प्रमाणनिर्णयः

Samantapañcaka Narrative and the Measure of an Akṣauhiṇī

समेत्य त॑ द्विजास्ताश्न तत्रैव निधनं गता: । एततन्नामाभिनिर्वत्तं तस्य देशस्य वै द्विजा:,ब्राह्मणो! वे सब सेनाएँ वहाँ इकट्टी हुईं और वहीं नष्ट हो गयीं। द्विजवरो! इसीसे उस देशका नाम समन्तपंचकः) पड़ गया

sametya te dvijāstāś ca tatraiva nidhanaṃ gatāḥ | etat tannāmābhinirvṛttaṃ tasya deśasya vai dvijāḥ ||

О брахманы, все те рати сошлись там и там же обрели погибель. О лучший из дважды-рождённых, именно от этого события утвердилось имя той страны — «Самантапанчакa», место, памятное собранием и истреблением, что свершились там.
