О Владыка Вайкунтхи, ты известен как Сувайю; и благовония, цветы и прочие подношения, принесённые тебе, никогда не оскверняются — не размазываются руками и не загрязняются зловонной мутью, состоящей из мочи, кала и тому подобного.
Garuda (Vinata-putra), addressing Lord Vishnu (Vaikuntha)
Concept: The Lord and what is offered to Him are intrinsically pure (nitya-śuddha); contact with Him sanctifies rather than being tainted by worldly impurity.
Vedantic Theme: Nitya-śuddha-buddha-mukta nature of Bhagavān; purity as ontological, not merely ritual; īśvara as unaffected by guṇas and mala.
Application: Offer with sincerity even amid imperfect conditions; maintain basic cleanliness but rely on devotion and right intention; treat prasāda as sanctified and handle respectfully.
Primary Rasa: bibhatsa
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: celestial abode
Related Themes: Garuda Purana: pūjā, prasāda, and Viṣṇu-bhakti as purifiers (general motif)
This verse highlights that offerings made to Lord Vishnu are regarded as intrinsically protected from defilement, emphasizing devotion (bhakti) and the sanctifying power of the divine even amid impurity-associated contexts discussed in the Preta Kanda.
While the Preta Kanda often describes impure and distressing conditions connected with death and the preta state, this verse contrasts that impurity with the purity of Vishnu’s sphere and worship—implying that turning to Vishnu and making offerings is a stabilizing, purifying refuge.
Maintain cleanliness and sincerity in worship, but also remember the core teaching: heartfelt offerings and remembrance of Vishnu are purifying and should not be abandoned due to fear of minor impurities.
