The Yadu–Vṛṣṇi–Andhaka Genealogies and the Purpose of Kṛṣṇa’s Advent
राजाधिदेव्यामावन्त्यौ जयसेनोऽजनिष्ट ह । दमघोषश्चेदिराज: श्रुतश्रवसमग्रहीत् ॥ ३९ ॥
rājādhidevyām āvantyau jayaseno ’janiṣṭa ha damaghoṣaś cedi-rājaḥ śrutaśravasam agrahīt
От Ражадхидеви, ещё одной сестры Кунти, у Джаясены родились два сына — Винда и Анувинда. Также царь страны Чеди по имени Дамагхоша женился на Шруташраве.
In this verse, Damaghoṣa is identified as the king of Cedi who marries Śrutaśravā, linking royal lineages described in Canto 9’s genealogies.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates dynastic details to connect key royal families and trace the historical line leading toward the appearance and associates of Lord Kṛṣṇa.
They show how dharma and destiny unfold through generations, helping readers see the Lord’s pastimes within a coherent sacred history rather than isolated stories.
