विनियोगाद्गुरोस्तस्य गां दोग्ध्रीं समकालयन् । समानवत्सां कपिलां सर्वेऽन्यायागतास्तदा
viniyogādgurostasya gāṃ dogdhrīṃ samakālayan | samānavatsāṃ kapilāṃ sarve'nyāyāgatāstadā

The verse contrasts rightful, guru-guided action with “anyāya” (improper conduct), implying that spiritual progress in Shaiva dharma depends on purity of means, obedience to the guru, and ethical restraint—not merely the outer act.
In Linga-worship, offerings gain sanctity through dharmic eligibility and correct procedure (vidhi). This verse highlights that when actions are done without rightful authority, the spiritual fruit is obstructed—whereas guru-directed, disciplined conduct supports Saguna Shiva worship and inner purification.
It suggests following guru-prescribed vidhi and maintaining śauca (purity) and dharma before any offering—paired with steady japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to keep intention and conduct aligned.
