Kṣaura-Snāna-Vidhi — Rite of Tonsure/Shaving and Purificatory Bath (Śaiva Procedure)
स्वकक्षयोः समालिप्य व्यत्यस्ताभ्यामथान्यया । पाणिभ्याञ्च मृदा शिष्यस्सुमतिर्दृढमानसः
svakakṣayoḥ samālipya vyatyastābhyāmathānyayā | pāṇibhyāñca mṛdā śiṣyassumatirdṛḍhamānasaḥ
Então o discípulo Sumati, firme em sua resolução, ungiu com terra sagrada (mṛdā, barro/cinzas) as próprias axilas, usando as duas mãos cruzadas uma sobre a outra, e também com a outra mão, aplicando o barro purificador com reverência segundo a observância śaiva.
