Foi com esta mesma arma divina que Śakra—Indra, de grande esplendor, senhor invencível, valente e conduzido por corcéis verdes—outrora venceu os Dānavas na antiga guerra entre devas e asuras.
In the past at the war between Devas and Asuras, a mighty and energetic valiant Lord of Devas who had green horses conquered Danavas (with the same sword).
Dharma is linked to cosmic precedent: divine victory over chaos (asuras/dānavas) establishes a moral frame for using sanctioned power to restore order.
The narration authenticates the weapon’s pedigree by recalling Indra’s ancient victory with it, underscoring its proven, dharmic potency.
Divine vīrya (valor) as a model: legitimate authority employs strength to protect the world from destructive forces.
