इन्द्रजित्-वधः
The Slaying of Indrajit
सोऽतिविद्धोबलवताशत्रुणाशत्रुघातिना ।असक्तंप्रेषयामासलक्ष्मणायबहून् शरान् ।।।।
so 'tividdho balavatā śatruṇā śatrughātinā | asaktaṃ preṣayāmāsa lakṣmaṇāya bahūn śarān ||
Embora gravemente traspassado por aquele inimigo poderoso, Lakṣmaṇa, matador de adversários, ele ainda assim não cessou e continuou a lançar muitas flechas contra Lakṣmaṇa, sem pausa.
Indrajith, who was grievously wounded by his hostile enemy, Lakshmana, the destroyer of hostile enemies, continuously discharged arrows at him.
The verse illustrates perseverance in one’s chosen course; in epic ethics this can be admired as resolve, while also warning that steadfastness without righteousness can still serve adharma.
Indrajit, despite being badly wounded by Lakṣmaṇa, continues firing continuously at him.
Tenacity and endurance (though morally neutral until aligned with dharma).
