Sarga 76: Angada and the Vanara chiefs battle Kampana, Prajaṅgha, Yūpākṣa, Śoṇitākṣa; Kumbha enters and is checked by Sugrīva
ततःकुम्भनिपातेनजलराशिस्समुत्थितः ।व्निध्यमन्दरसङ्काशोविससर्पसमन्ततः ।।।।
tataḥ kumbhanipātena jalarāśiḥ samutthitaḥ |
vindhyamandarasaṅkāśo visasarp samantataḥ ||
Então, com o mergulho de Kumbha, a massa de água ergueu-se, semelhante aos montes Vindhya e Mandara, espalhando-se e avançando em todas as direções.
By Kumbha falling into the ocean, it got swollen to the form of Vindhya and Mandara mountain and water flowed all over.
The verse reinforces the epic’s moral atmosphere: great deeds produce great effects. Dharma calls for responsibility proportional to one’s power.
