अतिकायवधः
The Slaying of Atikāya
न हिमद्बाहुसृष्टानामस्त्राणाहिमवानपि ।सोढुमुत्सहतेवेगमन्तरिक्षमथोमही ।।।।
The shafts discharged from my arm can't be borne, by the Himalayas, even the atmosphere between the sky and earth can't bear the force.
It illustrates अहंकार (pride) as a moral failing: dharma values truthfulness and proportion, while exaggerated self-praise tends toward adharma by inflaming violence and delusion.
Atikāya intensifies intimidation, claiming cosmic-scale power for his missiles.
Negatively, it highlights the vice of boastful pride; positively (by implication), it calls for steadiness and truth-oriented judgment in the face of threats.
