The Appearance of Kumbhakarna and the Account of His Might
येनवैवस्वतोयुद्धेवासवश्चपराजितः ।सैषविश्रवसःपुत्रःकुम्भकर्णःप्रतापवान् ।।6.61.9।।अस्यप्रमाणसदृशोराक्षसाऽन्यो न विद्यते ।
yena vaivasvato yuddhe vāsavaś ca parājitaḥ |
saiṣa viśravasaḥ putraḥ kumbhakarṇaḥ pratāpavān ||6.61.9||
asya pramāṇasadṛśo rākṣaso'nyo na vidyate |
«Por ele foram derrotados em batalha Vaivasvata (Yama) e até Vāsava (Indra). Este é Kumbhakarṇa, o poderoso filho de Viśravas; entre os rākṣasas não se conhece outro que lhe seja igual em tamanho.»
"Who is he, that gigantic Rakshasa? Is he a demon or perhaps a colossus? No such being was seen by me earlier."
