शरबन्धनम् (The Binding by Arrows) / Indrajit’s Illusory Assault and the Vanaras’ Consolation
वृष्टवेवोपरतेदेवेकृतकर्मणिराक्षसे ।आजगामाथतंदेशंससुग्रीवोविभीषणः ।।6.46.2।।
Indrajith retired after completing the task, like a cloud that retires after raining. Then came Vibheeshana and Sugriva to that location.
Dharma here is implied through discernment and timely action: allies who stand for righteous order (Vibhīṣaṇa with Rāma’s side, and Sugrīva as ally) move promptly in response to the enemy’s completed maneuver, emphasizing vigilance in a just cause.
After Indrajit completes a specific operation/rite and withdraws, Vibhīṣaṇa arrives at the location with Sugrīva, indicating a shift to counsel, assessment, or response in the battlefield narrative.
Vibhīṣaṇa’s virtue of dharmic allegiance and clear judgment is foregrounded—he acts with the righteous side and arrives to guide and support at a critical moment.
