लङ्काप्राकारारोहणम् / Assault on Lanka’s Ramparts and the Opening Clash
राघवःसहसैन्येनमुदितोनामपुप्लुवे ।लङ्कांददर्शगुप्तांवैसर्वतोराक्षसैर्वृताम् ।।।।
rāghavaḥ saha sainyena mudito nāma pupluve |
laṅkāṃ dadarśa guptāṃ vai sarvato rākṣasair vṛtām ||
Rāghava, acompanhado de seu exército e cheio de confiança, avançou e contemplou Laṅkā, bem guardada e cercada por todos os lados pelos rākṣasas.
The conflict that happened between the Rakshasas and Vanaras was amazing and intense and left a mire of flesh and blood.।। ityārṣēśrīmadvālmīkirāmāyaṇēādikāvyēyuddhakāṇḍēdvicatvāriṅśassargaḥ ।।This is the end of the forty second sarga of Yuddha Kanda of the first epic the holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
