tava hetoḥ viśālākṣi na hi me jīvitaṃ priyam ||
Oculto num lugar ermo e deserto, lancei fora o temor de Rāvaṇa; por tua causa, ó de grandes olhos, a minha própria vida não me é preciosa.
"O divine Mythili! Killing Ravana in war before long, your beloved who deserves to be happy will be happy in the company of his beloved."
Dharma is selfless protection: risking oneself to aid a righteous person in distress, grounded in truth and loyalty rather than self-interest.
Saramā explains she secretly listened despite danger, emphasizing that her support for Sītā outweighs fear of Rāvaṇa.
Courage and self-sacrifice—Saramā values Sītā’s welfare above her own safety.
