सागरप्रशमनम् / The Pacification of the Ocean and the Building of Nala’s Bridge
विख्यातंत्रिषुलोकेषुमधुकान्तारमेवतत् ।।6.22.39।।मोक्षयित्वाततःकुक्षिंरामोदशरथात्मजः ।वरंतस्मैददौविद्वान्मरवेऽमरविक्रमः ।।6.22.40।।
vikhyātaṃ triṣu lokeṣu madhukāntāram eva tat |
mokṣayitvā tataḥ kukṣiṃ rāmo daśarathātmajaḥ |
varaṃ tasmai dadau vidvān marave 'maravikramaḥ ||
Aquela região chamada Madhukāntāra era célebre nos três mundos. Então o sábio Rāma, filho de Daśaratha, de valor semelhante ao dos deuses, tendo libertado e esvaziado as cavidades do solo, concedeu uma dádiva a Maru.
Marukantaram is famous in the three worlds. Dasaratha's Rama, who is learned and has the valour of gods made the cavities dry and gave a boon.
Dharma is stewardship: after correcting a harmful condition, the righteous hero ensures flourishing by granting a boon—restoration plus uplift.
This verse repeats/summarizes the fame of the region and Rāma’s act of drying the hollows and blessing Maru.
Compassionate strength: power used to stabilize and then to bless.
