तदिच्छामि त्वयाऽऽज्ञप्तं देवि किं करवाण्यहम्।रामलक्ष्मणयोः पार्श्वं नयामि त्वां किमुत्तरम्।।।।
tad icchāmi tvayājñaptaṃ devi kiṃ karavāṇy aham | rāmalakṣmaṇayoḥ pārśvaṃ nayāmi tvāṃ kim uttaram ||
«Ó Devi, desejo conhecer tua ordem: que devo fazer? Devo levar-te para junto de Rāma e Lakṣmaṇa? Qual é tua decisão?»
'O venerable lady! I seek your order. What should I do? Should I take you to Rama and Lakshmana? What do you say?
Respect for agency and rightful conduct: even with power to act, dharma requires seeking the consent and instruction of the person most concerned.
Hanumān offers immediate rescue by carrying Sītā to Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa, but waits for her decision.
Hanumān’s restraint and propriety: he subordinates his strength to ethical procedure and Sītā’s will.
