सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः
हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
एवमुक्त स्सुरसया प्राञ्जलिः प्रणतः स्थितः।विवर्णवदनो भूत्वा वाक्यं चेदमुदीरयम्।।।।
evam uktaḥ surasayā prāñjaliḥ praṇataḥ sthitaḥ | vivarṇavadano bhūtvā vākyaṃ cedam udīrayam ||
Assim interpelado por Surasā, permaneci de mãos postas, curvado em reverência; meu rosto empalideceu, e proferi estas palavras.
"When addressed thus by Surasa, I bowed low with joined palms, stood before her with my face turned pale, and said:
Dharma is shown as humility and respectful speech even when threatened; power is met with courtesy, not insolence.
Hanumān describes his immediate reaction to Surasā’s claim that she will eat him.
Vinaya (humility) and restraint—Hanumān controls fear and responds with respectful posture.
