Sampati’s Intelligence Report on Sita’s Abduction
तं मामेवं गतं पुत्रस्सुपार्श्वोनाम नामतः।आहारेण यथाकालं बिभर्ति पततां वरः।।।।
taṃ mām evaṃ gataṃ putraḥ supārśvo nāma nāmataḥ |
āhāreṇa yathākālaṃ bibharti patatāṃ varaḥ ||
Nessa condição, meu filho—chamado Supārśva, o melhor entre as aves—me sustenta, trazendo-me alimento no tempo devido.
'Reduced to this state, I have been maintained by food given in time by my son named Suparshva, best among birds.
Dharma is expressed as filial responsibility: caring for an elder parent through timely support is a righteous duty grounded in compassion and gratitude.
Sampāti describes how he survives on the mountain—through the regular care provided by his son Supārśva.
Sevā (service) and pitṛ-bhakti (devotion to a parent), shown through consistent caregiving.
