किष्किन्धाकाण्डे षट्त्रिंशः सर्गः — सुग्रीवस्य भय-त्यागः, कृतज्ञता, तथा लक्ष्मणेन सान्त्वन-प्रेरणा
Sugriva’s Reassurance and Lakshmana’s Counsel
सहायेन तु सुग्रीव त्वया रामः प्रतापवान्।वधिष्यति रणे शत्रूनचिरान्नात्र संशयः।।।।
sahāyena tu sugrīva tvayā rāmaḥ pratāpavān | vadhiṣyati raṇe śatrūn acirān nātra saṃśayaḥ ||
Sugrīva, tendo-te como aliado, o poderoso Rāma em breve destruirá seus inimigos na batalha—não há dúvida disso.
'O Sugriva! you know dharma.You are grateful and will not turn back from the battle. So your words are true and befitting.
Dharma is cooperative righteousness: when allies unite for a just cause, adharma is overcome decisively.
Lakṣmaṇa strengthens Sugrīva’s confidence by stating that Rāma, supported by Sugrīva, will quickly defeat his foes.
Lakṣmaṇa’s steadfast confidence in righteous action and in the power of loyal alliance.
