Restraint, Time, and Mobilization
सत्त्वयुक्ता हि पुरुषास्त्वद्विधाः पुरुषर्षभ।अविमृश्य न रोषस्य सहसा यान्ति वश्यताम्।।।।
sattvayuktā hi puruṣās tvadvidhāḥ puruṣarṣabha |
avimṛśya na roṣasya sahasā yānti vaśyatām ||
Ó touro entre os homens, pessoas dotadas de firme virtude como tu não se submetem de súbito ao domínio da ira sem antes refletir com justeza.
'O bull among men! men with right vision like you do not become angry instantly without right thinking.
True strength is mastery over anger; reflection before reaction is a hallmark of dharmic character.
Tārā appeals to Lakṣmaṇa’s known nobility, reminding him that the righteous do not act from sudden rage.
