हनूमत्संवादः / Hanuman’s Diplomatic Approach to Rama and Lakshmana
विदितौ नौ गुणा विद्वंत्सुग्रीवस्य महात्मनः।तमेव चाऽवां मार्गावस्सुग्रीवं प्लवगेश्वरम्।।
viditau nau guṇā vidvan sugrīvasya mahātmanaḥ |
tam eva cāvāṃ mārgāvas sugrīvaṃ plavageśvaram ||
Ó sábio, são-nos conhecidas as virtudes do magnânimo Sugriva; é a Sugriva somente — senhor dos macacos — que estamos buscando.
'O learned Hanuman! having heard about the virtues of great Sugriva, lord of the monkeys, we eagerly look forward to meeting him;
Truthful disclosure of intent: dharmic conduct in negotiations begins with clarity—stating one’s purpose without deceit.
Lakshmana informs Hanuman that they have come specifically to meet Sugriva, indicating readiness for a rightful alliance.
Satya (truthfulness) combined with respect—acknowledging Sugriva’s known virtues before seeking him.
