The great soul, Lakshmana, striding like a mighty elephant, with a steady mind, followed Rama dutifully, protecting him with his strength.
Dharma as loyal service: Lakshmana embodies righteous guardianship—protecting the rightful person through both moral commitment and practical strength.
While traveling onward, Rama is accompanied closely by Lakshmana, who remains alert and protective.
Lakshmana’s vigilance (apramāda), devotion, and protective responsibility.
