गोदावरीतटे सीतान्वेषणम्
The Search for Sītā at the Godāvarī
एवमुक्तस्तु रामेण पर्वतो मैथिलीं प्रति।शंसन्निव ततस्सीतां नादर्शयत राघवे।।।।
evam uktas tu rāmeṇa parvato maithilīṁ prati |
śaṁsann iva tataḥ sītāṁ nādarśayat rāghave ||
Assim interpelado por Rāma, o monte pareceu ecoar como se fosse falar de Maithilī; contudo não revelou Sītā ao filho de Raghu.
Thus addressed by Rama, the mountain echoed as if it was telling about Sita but did not show her to Rama.
