सीतावियोगे रामविलापः
Rāma’s Lament in Separation from Sītā
अथवा न गमिष्यामि पुरीं भरतपालिताम्।।3.62.15।।स्वर्गोऽपि सीतया हीनश्शून्य एव मतो मम।
athavā na gamiṣyāmi purīṃ bharata-pālitām | svargo 'pi sītayā hīnaḥ śūnya eva mato mama || 3.62.15 ||
Ou então não irei à cidade governada por Bharata; pois, para mim, até o próprio céu é vazio se estiver sem Sītā.
Go to the auspicious city of Ayodhya, leaving me here in the woods. I can never live without Sita.
Righteous life is not mere comfort or destination: without justice restored and Sītā recovered, even ‘heaven’ is meaningless—dharma outweighs pleasure.
Rāma contemplates refusing to return to Ayodhyā if Sītā is not with him.
Single-minded commitment—Rāma prioritizes recovery of Sītā and moral completion over royal life or personal happiness.
