Sita’s Rebuke of Ravana; Removal to the Ashoka Grove
Having uttered these very harsh words out of anger, the daughter of Videha, the princess from Mithila spoke no more.
Dharma here is self-restraint after righteous protest: Sītā speaks firmly against adharma and then refuses further engagement, signaling moral clarity without needless escalation.
In the forest episode of abduction, Sītā has just rebuked Rāvaṇa with harsh words; after that rebuke she stops speaking.
Steadfastness and disciplined speech—Sītā’s refusal to continue conversation underscores her unwavering fidelity and moral resolve.
