FAQs

A person who bestows mati—wise understanding or sound counsel—is said to be worthy of reverence even from celestial beings such as the Devas, celestial maidens, and Kinnaras.

It indicates a sin-destroying practice or observance (an implied feminine noun such as vidyā, kriyā, or vrata) that the speaker is about to describe as the “third” in a sequence.

It elevates the moral and spiritual value of giving right guidance—teaching that sharing wisdom is a sacred act deserving honor, and it frames dharmic instruction as a means to remove sin.
