Not explicitly stated in this verse (context-dependent narration within Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa)

Concept: The cosmos is described through classification and measure; knowing one’s ‘place’ within a larger order supports inner steadiness.

Application: Use ‘measurement’ as a spiritual tool: track habits, time, and speech; disciplined accounting (like yojana measures) reduces self-deception and supports sādhana.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

FAQs

It signals a structured cosmography: dvīpas (continents/islands), oceans, and their arrangement within a sevenfold scheme, presented with traditional distance units (yojanas) and notes about inhabitants.

Not directly. It functions as a cosmographic transition verse, preparing for descriptive details; Bhakti teachings are more explicit in other sections (especially later Vaishnava-focused portions).

It emphasizes orderly description and careful enumeration—valuing clarity, structure, and attention to detail when presenting knowledge about the world.
