Pulastya

Concept: Distinguishing biological conception from nurturing roles, and mapping them onto cosmic archetypes, reveals the Purāṇic principle of layered parenthood in līlā.

Application: Honor both sources of life: those who give birth and those who raise; recognize multiple forms of ‘parenthood’ and responsibility.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Pulastya, seated beneath a spreading tree in a hermitage, speaks with calm precision while pointing to a palm-leaf genealogy diagram. FAQs

Pulastya is speaking, clarifying the identities of the parents: Kaśyapa as the male figure and Aditi as his beloved consort.

It highlights the twofold maternal role—bearing (conception/birth) and nurturing (raising)—before the narration specifies the lineage connected with Kaśyapa and Aditi.

It supports the Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa’s focus on creation-era genealogies and the identification of key progenitors (prajāpatis) and their consorts within cosmic lineage accounts.
