Tendo-se prostrado, deve então permanecer ali, de pé, em reverente atenção; e, após novamente prestar o culto devido, liberta-se de toda a torrente de pecados, bem como de aflições pecaminosas, tais como influências planetárias maléficas e semelhantes.
Narada (instructional narration within Uttara-Bhaga Tirtha/ritual context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that humility (praṇāma) followed by proper worship (paripūjā) functions as a purifying discipline, destroying accumulated pāpa and removing obstructive afflictions that hinder dharma and devotion.
Bhakti is shown as embodied reverence: bowing, standing attentively before the sacred, and repeated worship—outer actions that cultivate inner surrender and lead to purification and grace.
The mention of pāpa-graha (inauspicious planetary influence) points to Jyotiṣa (Vedic astrology) as a framework for understanding afflictions, while the remedy emphasized is ritual worship and reverential conduct.
