Determination of Tithi for Fasts, Parana, and Pitri Rites
दत्तं जप्तं हुतं स्नातं तथा पूजा कृता हरेः । तिथौ विद्धे क्षयं याति तमः सूर्योदये यथा ॥ ४५ ॥
dattaṃ japtaṃ hutaṃ snātaṃ tathā pūjā kṛtā hareḥ | tithau viddhe kṣayaṃ yāti tamaḥ sūryodaye yathā || 45 ||
A caridade dada, o japa de mantras, as oferendas ao fogo (homa), o banho ritual e até a adoração a Hari—quando feitos num tithi “perfurado” (tithi-viddha, impuro/defeituoso), tudo perece, como a escuridão se dissipa ao nascer do sol.
