Kuru-Sainika-Āśvāsana and Vijayaghoṣaṇa
Reassuring the Kuru Soldiers; Proclaiming Victory
विशिखोन्मथितैगत्रिर्बाहुभिश्व सकार्मुकै: । सहस्ताभरणैश्षान्यै: प्रच्छन्ना भाति मेदिनी
viśikhonmathitaiḥ gātraiḥ bāhubhiś ca sa-kārmukaiḥ | sa-hastābharaṇaiḥ śānyaiḥ pracchannā bhāti medinī ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: A terra resplandecia—embora com um brilho sombrio e inquietante—coberta de corpos dilacerados e revolvidos pelas flechas de Arjuna, e de braços decepados que ainda apertavam seus arcos. Mesmo nas mãos caídas, braceletes, pulseiras, anéis e outros ornamentos permaneciam intactos. Assim, o campo de batalha, juncado de armas e de membros adornados, exibia um esplendor estranho, que evidencia o terrível custo da guerra e o peso moral suportado por quem combate.
