Adhyāya 6: Kaṅka (Yudhiṣṭhira) Seeks Refuge in Virāṭa’s Assembly

नमोस्तु वरदे कृष्णे कुमारि ब्रह्मचारिणि । बालार्कसदृशाकारे पूर्णचन्द्रनिभानने

Transliteration

namo'stu varade kṛṣṇe kumāri brahmacāriṇi | bālārka-sadṛśākāre pūrṇa-candra-nibhānane ||

Translation

Vaiśaṃpāyana disse: “Salve a ti, ó Kṛṣṇā, doadora de dádivas—ó donzela, ó guardiã do brahmacarya. Tua forma brilha como o jovem sol ao nascer, e teu rosto é aprazível como a lua cheia.” Assim, desejando a visão e o favor da Deusa, o rei Yudhiṣṭhira, com seus irmãos, voltou a louvá-la com muitos nomes reverentes—um ato de devoção alicerçado na humildade e na reta intenção em meio à adversidade.
