सर्वायुधमहामात्रं शातकुम्भपरिष्कृतम् एतत् तदर्जुनस्यासीद् गाण्डीवं परमायुधम्,बृहन्नला बोली--राजकुमार! तुमने पहले जिसके विषयमें मुझसे प्रश्न किया है, वही यह अर्जुनका विश्वविख्यात गाण्डीव धनुष है, जो शत्रुओंकी सेनाके लिये कालरूप है। यह सब आयुधोंसे विशाल है। इसमें सब ओर सोना मढ़ा है। यही उत्तम आयुध गाण्डीव अर्जुनके पास रहा करता था
uttara uvāca |
sarvāyudha-mahāmātraṁ śātakumbha-pariṣkṛtam |
etat tad arjunasya āsīd gāṇḍīvaṁ paramāyudham ||
Uttara disse: “Este é o supremo armamento de Arjuna — o célebre arco Gāṇḍīva — mais vasto que quaisquer outras armas e ricamente ornado com ouro refinado. Era, de fato, o próprio arco de Arjuna.”
