Dhaumya’s Counsel on Incognito Conduct in a Royal Household (राजवसतौ आचरण-निति)
अतो5हमपि वक्ष्यामि हेतुमत्र निबोधत । हन्तेमां राजवसतिं राजपुत्रा ब्रवीम्पहम्,इसलिये मैं भी जो युक्तियुक्त बातें बताऊँगा, उन्हें यहाँ ध्यान देकर सुनो। राजपुत्रो! मैं यह बता रहा हूँ कि राजाके घरमें रहकर कैसा बर्ताव करना चाहिये? उसके अनुसार राजकुलमें रहते हुए भी तुमलोग वहाँके सब दोषोंसे पार हो जाओगे। कुरुनन्दन! विवेकी पुरुषके लिये भी राजमहलमें निवास करना अत्यन्त कठिन है
ato 'ham api vakṣyāmi hetum atra nibodhata | hanta imāṁ rājavasatiṁ rājaputrā bravīmi aham |
Dhaumya disse: “Por isso, também eu explicarei a razão—escutai atentamente aqui. Ó príncipes, direi como viver na residência de um rei: como se deve conduzir enquanto se permanece no seio da casa real. Agindo assim, mesmo habitando entre a família régia, podereis transpor as muitas faltas que ali surgem. Pois até para um homem discernente, residir num palácio é extremamente difícil.”
